Pre-school have been very busy during our final week before half term!
This week, we listened to the story My World, Your World and explored the similarities and differences between people around the world. The children enjoyed talking about their own likes and dislikes and learning that everyone is special in their own way.
We also looked at photographs of our own homes and discussed their features, comparing them with different types of houses. The children then drew pictures of their own homes to add to our display.
During phonics, the children continued to develop their listening skills by recognising instrumental sounds, singing songs and learning to use musical instruments correctly.
In the outdoor area, the children enjoyed using tools in our workshop area to hammer golf tees into pumpkins. They also had lots of fun building towers using blocks of different sizes.
On Thursday, the children took part in their gymnastics lesson, joining in with group games and showing off their excellent listening skills.
In the afternoon, we explored pumpkins! Mrs Marden carefully carved one open so the children could look inside and discover all the seeds. We then chopped the pumpkin into pieces, along with other vegetables such as potatoes and carrots, to make our very own vegetable soup. Everyone was brave enough to give it a try, and it was delicious!
On Friday, the children were treated to a special behaviour reward: a glow-in-the-dark game of dodgeball! There was lots of excitement, laughter and fun.
I hope you all have a wonderful half-term holiday, and I look forward to seeing everyone again next term!
